I’m just a truck driver, so my thoughts on Walmart’s business is pretty silly. Well, what the heck.. I don’t see their private fleet disappearing. But also see if that Walmart needs to protect himself from their employees. is there a possibility if Walmart expanse their private fleet, and they decided to unionize… they union could put Walmart in a bind? a great way to put a safety measure in would have a set up and running brokerage?

No need to get all defensive about your employer, I’m not anti-Walmart. It’s not just your employer, all large corporations use tax breaks and have a decent share of their employees on the government teat. I was replying to questions that were asked.

That said, what if they took some of their record profits and some of their charitable donations and bumped pay up a few bucks an hour and lowered the number of their employees using welfare benefits?

Ok let's be real about this. Working in a store is a job you can walk in off the street with no high school diploma or GED and they will put you to work all the work you can handle consistently. Not really hard or difficult work either. So this nonsense about living wages is just that. That ain't the real world. It's feel good sort of left wing talk. If it was real world stuff everybody that bought a truck would be wildly successful right? We could all get living wages no matter what. But here on the real world we actually have to earn our living wage with a marketable skill.

Now anyone that hires into a store has a world of opportunity in front of them. They can climb the ranks. They can get a free college degree paid for by the company. They could start by pushing carts for entry wages and in 10 or 15 years be making $400,000 managing a store. They can also quit and go get a job someplace else. Maybe one of those mythical places that pays living wages for any and everything? Understand not everybody that's wearing those blue vests in the stores is making low wages or even relies 100% on that job to live. Do some people? Sure. But not everyone and anyone that wants to get ahead in life can.

Amazon Fulfillment Center jobs start at $22/Hr. whole family benefits, will send you to college, get you a CDL if you want. Same thing as Walmart.

Look I buy stuff at all kinds of places large and small but most people out here poor, middle class, rich or whatever typically buy essentials at some big box store or similar type of place. Like for example are you telling me you go to some independent corner store to purchase your laundry detergent, soap, tooth paste, toilet paper and other things of that nature? Sorry I find that so hard to believe.

And there seems to be no shortage of people who want to work at either place.
    Seems funny, frankly......
