Wasn't aware that Speedway was an East Coast thing. Circle K seems to be inconsistent in the TX/CO/NM area. At the same time I'm hitting up realtor .com. Scoping out the affordable spots near truck stops. Apart from fuel racks, I do see the Loves and Pilot FJ trucks parked overnight/overday at their respective stores. On those rare occasions when they're not being slip seated.

Just find one that is hiring in an area that you want to live in. Take what you can get, just to get your foot in the door, as long as they have a good safety record. Learn the ropes and Once you get carded and start becoming a recognized face at the racks, you can make some professional relationships with drivers there and get the skinny on their companies. You may be able to find out about jobs before they are even advertised. The best jobs I've had were all from referrals from other drivers or chance meetings with family member of those drivers. Good luck.

Wished this worked with the milk hauling industry. Instead it seems like after asking other drivers about their respective company, it's all the same; same pay cap-out(usually $65k/year regardless of company) and maxing the hours of service each week. Instead of finding the better job in this hauling segment, it's trying to find which one is less tyrannical. Indian River used to be pretty kick back. But then a dispatcher I had previous spats elsewhere came onboard in 2020 and now it's just her and some new person. Can't get out of this place soon enough.

Looking for places, I just got to square away the typical security and up front costs for a place. But also got to work on my money saving and penny pinching habits. Probably burn through more money on various insurances and certain other bills more than anything.

Or I'm just moronic with money:)

If your willing to move west like you said I’d consider looking at Maverik, they are a private fleet so consistent work and you can choose between crude hauling or refined aka gasoline/ diesel. https://jobs.maverik.com/search/jobs?q=logistics+fuel&location=

That’s true in more rural areas but not near a big city.

Nice. I'll give them a shot too. They seem to be a mainstay in AZ and UT. Perhaps NV now as well.

Yeah I’ve been waiting for a long time for their spot in Southern Utah to open up. The fact that it’s been a long time is a good thing, would always rather run for a private fleet than a common.

I won't disagree with you, it's the only time I can load all three compartments at once and day dream about nonsense for 10 minutes. :D

UPT's website shows that they have trucks in Bovina / Texico.

Gemini openings in Lubbock are rare as hen's teeth, they have openings more frequently in Amarillo. Your best bet for Lubbock is probably to start with Groendyke or PFJ / Pro Petroleum. Speedway and Benton Oil have yards there but I don't know how often they have openings. Same with Toot N Totum, they occasionally have openings but you're more likely to find one in Amarillo.
