It must be different in Georgia. Nowadays a background check that I got at the courthouse w/fingerprints took about 2-3 weeks. It was for concealed carry, the way I understand it nowadays that same BG check is good for CC , Twic and Hazmat. I've had all three in years past and had to get separate BG checks.

 

Finished the last of the paperwork today, got my keys and dispatch. Threw some groceries in the truck, hooked up my CB and GPS... Tested both. Went through the permit book to verify everything is upto date... I leave out on Saturday afternoon/evening...

Few years back the MS Highway Patrol station in New Albany took my prints for a concealed carry. I stood around in the room till it readout and got it within an hour. I had an Army Top Secret Codeword security clearance in years past and supposedly a typical search will not show me.
Order of evacuation for us was us, then women and children..... Strange times in lead up to VN.
