CRE benefits applicants that aren't qualified at other training Carrier companies. To succeed with this firm you must be extremely motivated and determined. Once you establish a hireable work history you will consider other Carriers for employ. They will make you a driver, or-more often than not, they will break you. I came thru CRE.

OK.. and how did you perform. Did you barely get even with them before moving on?

I was told once you are on your own, you will need to stick with them for about 90 days before you can change companies (maybe just to step foot in the door). My guess? so I should shop around for a better company or consider trucking school (accredited), etc.)

Thanks, I've decided to "bail out" of CRE and look elsewhere. I've read somones post that the facility is nice on the outside, however what's inside looks very depressing, decapatating. I'll look somewhere else. I've heard some horror stories here like need to rent car, no shuttle service. Course public bus service in Utah on a Sunday is very dismal if not none. No bus service to that facility on Sundays if greyhound/airport arrives to SLC on a Sunday for Mondays orientation.

I've heard that Intrstate might be good company here. any thoughts?

I've checked out a private CDL school and they said the same thing, No swift, CRE. Schnider, US Xpresss... grey area.

    How about May, gordon, crst?

Try locating a state funded technical school in your area. The cost is always considerably lower and you don't have to worry about signing any type of contract to attend. Finally, several company recruiters are scheduled to address your class, prior to graduation. Therefore, you don't feel pressured and it affords you more time in deciding which team to join. Good luck.

Like that, wish I could do that, in my area only private CDL schools are in the area in nothern Oregon. Nearest state funded tech school is in Astoria, OR at a community college (at the coast), or Bates Tech in Tacoma, WA. or a community college in Medford, OR (Rogue Valley, southern oregon).
