Thank goodness for that! I guess when absolutely EVERYBODY is instantly against you, that happens. If this had been a troll, he would've stayed and argued more. No, this guy was just clueless, reckless, and a bit of a sociopath, I guess. The sort of damage HE could do with a truck is something I wouldn't want to happen. There are a lot of drivers out there who shouldn't have a CDL, but it's rare that one comes in that is so blatantly unqualified.

Remember when being a trucker was considered a bit exclusive, regarding your ability as a driver, and required an untarnished MVR? I do...

Jesus Christ. Don't get a CDL. My wife and children are on these roads. If you panic, you DO NOT need a CDL. Please.

I am not sure why this made me laugh so hard. I guess just cause of all the other things people suggested, you say Tugboat. I definitely wouldn't have thought to mention that. Deck hands make good money from what I have heard anyway.

They do. There's a lot of turnover with new hires because they work in all weather and they work hard. That being said, if a deckhand has any promise he can work his way up to the wheelhouse and then the money is surprisingly good.
It's a lot like trucking. People find out fast if they're really suited for it and if they like it. Most people who do it for any length of time don't ever want to do anything else.
