I had an epiphany about backing up a tractor-trailer on a city street

Well... I guess I'll be sitting here awhile. I can’t go forward because there could be a motorcycle in front of me but I can't tell. Can't back up because there could be a yellow car back there. I'm screwed!

You must be a new driver or misinformed to think you can see a car or motorcycle that close to you? I’ve had people driving behind me on the interstate and I couldn’t see them. You have to be very careful when backing especially on the street. When in doubt, don’t do it, or get out and check.

there are millions of miles worth of common sense on this thread. The OP is not included in said millions. Living proof it is possible to do something for 10+ years and still not understand the basics. Unless of course you’re using American simulator. Why is he no longer a “driving instructor?” He has nearly 150 threads, many of them locked, where he is all wadded up over things that don’t even require a second thought.

 

My first thought was - "how many panic stricken people,
Families; furiously blowing the horn to not be crushed,
has he scared to death, without even knowing it."

Then I hear about the Op. having many previous threads,
and others indicating the warning signs of "Troll syndrome, "
and I figure I'll throw another log on the fire.
