That is odd. Maybe the mechanic is right and the axle really is bent. Did they check the rear diff?

It doesn't change with speed therefore its not a rotating part. It is the result of an under-damped harmonic mode in the suspension, frame, or combination. As previously mentioned the things to look for are related to anything that absorbs energy (engine mounts, cab mounts, spring packs) their attachments, any pivot, and suspension/frame bolt torques.

Do whatever you have to to get it that low. Bend the rod, unbolt it whatever. Even if you have to halfass it to get it that low do it and you'll know for sure. If your buddies truck is the same then the suspension height should probably be the same.

remember black tape and wire ties can be your friend in situations like this...:yes2557:

My girlfriend and I have been teaming for a while now. And we went through some tough arguements recently. Split up and got back together a few times. She just got to the point that she didn't want to go anymore. But, Since we signed on as a team, she was needed.

But, after thinking about this, I realized that all this vibration, was keeping both of us from sleeping while the other was driving. We'd wake up in bad moods all the time.

Fixing this vibration problem is going to fix alot more than just the truck.

What I would do is put it on a set of axle stands and run it very slowly, look at the rims and tires and see if one does wobble or is out of round, check all the wheel bearings, be sure none are loose. Check all your fluid levels, and do a plug swap, checking for cuttings. Check the motor mounts and mounting bolts to the frame, and to the motor, be sure there is nothing jammed between the mounts and the rubbers. The last thing is something I have only seen a couple of times but still possible is that the truck and the drives both have the same resident vibration. That would explain the vibration travelling up and down the truck. What you have to do is change the harmonics of one. I have seen adding a cross member change it also moving the fuel tanks ahead or back there are four bolts holding the brackets on. What I did was lower the tanks and redrill the frame the same spacing either forward or back and plugging the extra holes left over. Just a thought!

Well worth fixing then. That would drive me nuts. I can't even stand rattles and squeaking. I track them all down and fix them one way or another.
