This is true, though the long hauls can be a double edged sword in my opinion. Sometimes a driver may only bump 1 dock that whole week.

Think you made a good decision for exactly the reasons you stated. If your not rolling on CPM, your not earning. Short runs, just open door to too much & little to no compensation for your time.
You get no gain to the benefits of the higher $ rates on short runs, since you are set CPM.
ALL drop & hook I can see a bit differently, but still cuts into time to a degree. And, ALL drop & hook will be a rare bird right now for you.

also keep in mind with the markets going crazy and the tariff situation it could affect freight for the whole industry. Since you’ll be hauling mostly refrigerated food it shouldn’t affect that part of the freight market too much.PpreciateItHaaaan and lual Thank this.
