After all the good weeks I have had, I now will pay the price. Next load is a same day load, picking up and delivering tomorrow (live load in Douglassville, PA, live unload in Mt. Crawford, VA - Walmart), then wait until Wednesday afternoon to live load at a shipper in Mt. Crawford VA going to Morris, IL for a Friday live unload. After all the 3000 mile weeks, this week won't even be 2000 (and most likely next week won't be much better since I have my first real hometime scheduled for the 8th)

SSB, I hope this isn't the beginning of a downward trend for you. After what you've been thru I was hoping that you found your final utopia. Let's hope for an upswing in your miles..Friend, hope not dumb twucker, Knucklehead and 1 other person Thank this.

The sudden downturn in miles is undoubtedly due to his upcoming hometime.Friend, navypoppop, hope not dumb twucker and 2 others Thank this.

That's part of it, but the last couple weeks I have heard the "short freight" excuse, but they always seem to work it out somehow. Plus it's "bid season" and this weeks update video said that there may be some changes in freight lanes upcoming.Last edited: Apr 28, 2025

I watched a video today which was an interview with a Freight Waves analyst who said these tarrifs on China will have a worse ripple effect on the supply chain than Covid did when it was at its worst. Kinda bad news for the current economic situation were in.

Alot of people dealing with the ports in LA are panicking. Its supposed to be a bloodbath. Alot of people are going to be out of work if its anywhere near as bad as they think. A huge amount of jobs in Phoenix are to the ports and back, with a some big companies having that as their their sole revenue.
Friend, Rugerfan and motocross25 Thank this. -
I saw something similar. There’s guys on the LTL thread somewhere on this forum that I’ll probably never be able to find back, that were already saying things have started to get slow. And this is when LTL freight should be ramping up. That’s usually an indication. But, then again when I did LTL we’d be slow one week and it’d be the end of the world, and next week I’d come to work and the dock was a one way loop for forklifts just barely squeezing by freight. So who knows.

I have tile being shipped from Portugal. 2 different ships have canceled sailings so far due to not enough cargo. When it does ship, my additional bill for tariffs will be over $4k.
