From the looks of things, the federal government is cracking down hard on medical examiners, truck drivers, & trucking companies alike.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

    Concorde Thanks this.

While it sucks for those that are affected, I'm kind of glad to see this.

I used to go to my family doc to get my DOT physical. Then the laws changed, they didn't want to do it anymore. So in my area, the only option was a local chiropractor, or Worknet or whatever it is called. I was there once, and they wanted me to do a sleep study. They said I was at risk of sleep apnea. I argued my way out of it, being in pretty good health overall, and never went back.
    But anyway...

So I go to this chiropractor now, and he's VERY laid back about things. The only thing he really is concerned with is blood pressure. That's literally the only real test he does. And if it's on the high side, he 'adjusts' the numbers. I know people that have heart issues, and at any other reputable place, they'd only get a 1 year card, or maybe a 6 month card. But slip the chiropractor a few bucks and you get a two year card. The hearing test is basic he asks you a question from a few feet away. You answer it and you passed the hearing test.

I know of one fellow that goes there is over 500 pounds, can't walk more than about 30 feet without stopping to catch his breath. Somehow, he gets a 2 year card from the chiropractor.

I'm sure there's many more like him out there. And when you look at the overall health of truck drivers, that's the last thing we need. This is one area where I support more government oversight
