Seen them on step deck trailers usually two at a time. Really low slung looking pickup truck shaped body with huge off road bead lock tires. Usually painted dark camo green. Was trying to describe to somebody and couldn’t dig up a picture on Google. Anybody anybody have a guess what these are?
What are those cool looking military pickups?

Oshkosh JLTV - successor to the Humvee.
They look slant because of their air suspension that drops down in transit mode.Lonesome, tscottme, broke down plumber and 2 others Thank this. -
Cost to us taxpayers? Between $370,000 and $413,00 EACH, depending on what onboard spa,,oops, I mean, equipment is specified. Has warfare progressed to the point that equipment like this is needed? Apparently so. War has always been, who can get the upper hand, and makes the poor MB Jeep look like a toy, yet, they serve the same purpose, just to a different scale. Half a mil worth? Wow,,,they are cool and proud to say made in my home state of Wisconsin.
bzinger, Studebaker Hawk and JB7 Thank this. -
Maybe we should buy Toyotas and mount hardware on them, it would be a hell of a lot cheaper.
some reports say they were better in the harsh environment and didn’t have the breakdowns like ours.

I just thought they looked cool as hell and I'm not even into military or 4x4 off road stuff generally. So it's the airbag suspension that gives it that slammed negative camber look when parked or on a trailer? Makes sense. Apparently they have a specially tuned L5P Duramax and Allison 6 speed automatic, so it's basically a powertrain from a modern 1-ton pickup. Although I'm sure the axles and driveline are way bigger. These would be a cool off road toy in 20 years when they're obsolete.
