My CDL expired in 2012, I want to get back into trucking

I want to get back into trucking. Do I have to go back to CDL school again or can I find a truck and retake the test

 

You messed up.you will have to go to a school, take test. I did similar. But I spent about $15 every 4 YEARS to KEEP MY CDL. I was not required to keep a current medical card. *as long as I was NOT driving for hire*
I looked it up. I normally have said $5 per year. But it was $3.75. So 20 years cost me $75.
You let it expire 13 years ago. So instead of about $50. I believe you are looking at +$4000.
BUT. Check it out. Go to your state DOT, do search, FAQ, ask a question. It’s amazing how sometimes there is an exemption. Good luck. I hope you don’t need to spend +$4k

Where is your location?
Do you want flatbed, reefers, dry van?
Get all the endorsements while in school, including hazmat. Every now and then even reefers get a hazmat load.

 

I am close to Knoxville. Tn. I drove for Interstate Distribution out of Tacoma, Wa. I drove dry van team with my now ex-wife
