on my way back from lost hills yesterday afternoon, i noticed one of our trailer sitting by itself on an onramp of nb i-5.
    saw it again this morning.
so on my way back to terminal i stopped and looked at it.
had those amazon rental stickers on the front.
gps unit tore up and missing.
wad empty. hole in front where gps is.
chp put those yellow warning stickers on the back door.
called security and reported it. he said it was leased to a company.
he said he would call amazon and have them pick it up.
not sure how lomg chp will let it sit there before towing it
    most likely stolen

That's what it sounded like from your first post.
Did they say why they needed 14 chalks and 24 straps to secure 2 forklifts?

And who carries that much stuff in the truck?!

    dptrucker Thanks this.

    lathrop terminal.
other driver picks up load at union city ca (load of alcahol) and doesnt scale it till he got to lost hills.
35900 on trailer tandems and one hole short of forty foot mark.
bol says about 38000 lbs of load weight and his air guage was arou d 50 psi.
told him before cant trust it and guage only for drives.
after a lengthly discussion i brought the load he was suppose to take and tcalled it.hete
he took the overweight and was gling to take 58-14-5-210 to miss scalehouses

50 on the air gauge should have been a red flag that the tandems were very heavy.

The joys of balancing weight between the tandems and California’s bridge law compliance!
I’d like to know if the load weight included the pallet weight and how much those pallets weighed.
Gotta love it when drivers play the “pass the buck” routine!

Average pallet weight 40 lbs give or take. Most shippers are calculating off items weight multiplied out. Not accrate at all. Heartlad does state tht it is the loading drivers responsibility to scale out the load in that situation, Some do most don't. I thonk the only load I did not scale was 8 pallets of fathersdday card loaded in Reno, NV. Did not hand it off ran it to Perris CA.

When starting for a new company, first thing I d is set out for a truckstop, fuel then weigh empty, When I leave a shipper genrally I like to head to the closest CAT Scale, There are times when theres just no scale available, then I hit the closest one enroute.

I don't like doing tcall loads, If I load it I want to deliver it. Just not a perfectt world, you rarely have a choice.

Tell me about it. I’ve lost count of how many bottled water loads I’ve had to return to get reworked because they exceeded the gross limit when I CAT Scale them. And that’s when driving with 1/2 to 3/4 full fuel tanks and 1/2 tank of reefer fuel.

Pepsi and Bud are the worst for over-loading the drives
