How many drivers does a dispatcher dispatch?

Probably fewer than the number of threads you start per day.........(grin)

Lastest time i did dispatch it was around 142 drivers vs me. But that was a small company and no computers, etc. Did it for 2 months as a "favor" to a bud of mine. 'Twas easy for the most part cause I locked him and the rest of the office staff outa "my office" and dispatched with a baseball bat on my desk (complaint dept).
Every morning I had my load list an when empty drivers called in I told em "here's what I got, whadda ya want?". When I left the drivers said I was the best dang dispatch they ever had. Hey, whadda ya gonna say to a 6ft 4 guy with a Louisville Slugger in his hand?

 

Swift is advertising for a dispatcher here in my area, it states 50 drivers .

 

ROFL!!!!

 

I bet Swift has more like 200-300 drivers per dispatcher I see the same guys name time and time again when I run the east coast.

Now if you mean driver manager, there is a difference, I think it varies by the terminal. My dm has something like 50-60 drivers out of the terminals 170 or so. He's able to get to me in a timely manner and help when I need it.
