They won’t even pay squat now for sitting overnight waiting on a road service to show up for a trailer so would that mean I won’t give a #### anymore I’ll just leave the trailer at the customer. I’ll find another load… I’m not messing with it

I would rather give up 12-24 hrs before getting breakdown pay than be affiliated with any type of legal organized crime syndicate (aka a union) who goes on strike and the union pays you table scraps (while the union leadership gets the same pay regardless of how long they force their members to walk the picket line.)Lonesome Thanks this.

Wasn't it 24 hours at one time?
-
I'm pretty sure that's the way it's always been.

Do as they say as far as what? Have you worked a non driving job where you have to deal with bosses and coworkers?

The union job had better benefits. Idk what "choices" you think you cant make with a union. "The union" isn't your boss.074344 Thanks this. -
I got paid half day layover one time for sitting 4 hours because of a blown trailer tire...maybe Crete should reevaluate their policies
When I was involved in my accident last September and was stuck in BFE Colorado for a number of days, I got paid 3.5 days layover and was fully reimbursed for my hotel stay -
Well you would be correct about Yellow. You can go back throughout the years to see what Teamster union represented companies have failed. I have no idea how many failed. I don't even know how many non Teamster union companies have failed. What I can tell you, judging by your post about shop pay, you are still an at will employee whose terms and conditions regarding pay, benefits and working conditions can be changed by your employer at any time. Again, welcome to being an at will employee.Friend and navypoppop Thank this.

Well that's the path that you chose. And how many companies have you been with? How many times have you quit those companies? Your posts on here are very entertaining. The company that I drove for as well as the company my wife worked for never went on strike. Now your company will take away money from you regarding breakdown pay leaving you sitting for free. But your company leadership will still receive their same pay?gentleroger Thanks this.

I think we need to change the subject regarding unions. It's obvious each side is dead set on their opinion about them so we are just wasting data storage on the forum's server discussing it further. This is what I picture when the subject of unions is brought up
