A long time ago. Werner has interchange agreements with just about everyone and will regularly haul other people's contract loads.

 

Less about excess freight, more about Werner being willing to haul for cheap to avoid dead head. Schneider and Swift used to do the same thing.

Or they just didn't have a driver that could make the load. Sometimes it's better to pay another carrier to pick up the load than it is to have your driver be an hour late.

For Bison in particular, they do a lot of cross border stuff and occasionally cares about cabotage. Not often, but occasionally, so they'll hire out equipment repositioning.

They bought a lot of concrete too.

 

All drivers facilities are downstairs now… Fleet is upstairs… Also the entire parking lot now is all concrete no dirt lot anymore
