what's the best fuel card?

Amazon's Comdata has been great for going on 4 years now. .40 off Loves is beating TA/Petro cost plus since BP bought them, most of the time. No reloading like TCS, and they have fuel stops down here in the south unlike Mudflap. I also have a FleetOne Edge card as a backup, but rarely use it.
TA and Petro have become so dilapidated and disgusting, I have no desire to fuel there anymore. BTW, I've severed pulled a single Amazon load, I'm a flatbedder.

 

Uber Freight credit card can be used for fuel and truck related shopping. One of our owner operators uses one. I saw that TA and Petros, among others, had very decent discounts, in some cases as much as one dol. But lately, there was a fraud attempt, someone 1000 miles away attempted to use it his card, even though he still had it in his wallet. They must have somehow, somewhere cloned it.
But I guess that can happen to any card. Too many times, they want to hold it at a fuel desk while you fuel, that's the vulnerable moment.

 

Don't Prime offer their fuel card to independent drivers?

When I had a diesel motorhome used Open Roads which is a card on the WEX network. Works pretty much anyplace that has the high-speed pumps except Pilot / Flying J. Price was very competitive

I use the Comdata which sometimes saves me up to 70 cents off the pump price. They withdraw from my business checking every Friday for the fuel purchased the week before.

 

TA/Petro: stop for fuel and leave (usually).

Couple of exceptions. The Petro in Waterloo, NY off I-90 is about the only place you’re finding parking in that area past a certain hour so sometimes I’ll get stuck sitting at one for a 10 but I don’t like them either. Food sucks. Showers are such a rip off I just skip it that night unless I happen to have a credit. Too bad there can’t just be a Kwik Trip everywhere. I don’t like parking overnight at any of the mega chains.
