Wheel chocks are not too expensive and can prevent this problem.hotrod1653 Thanks this.

Yep I carry one in my truck with me, just for hill unloading and such.

Not on flash frozen ice or during an arctic blast on an incline.
best bet is turn your steering wheels towards the right. Worst is it'll stop at the snow pile or curb (speaking as if I'm on Vail Summit). It wouldn't have gone anywhere.Rugerfan Thanks this. -
Pretty sure my language made my dog blush, and she was 150 miles away.Sirscrapntruckalot and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

In my case, and my understanding is this is how it normally happens, your tires are hot from driving, you pull over and stop, set your brakes, your hot tires melt through the thin layer of snow to contact the ice below, and well, away she goes. Wheel chocks may or may not stop it from happening, but I've learned to now ride my trailer brakes for a few hundred feet to make sure they are melted clear and then I set everything, I also try not to stop beyond the crest of the hill unless it's otherwise unavoidable, in which case I turn my wheels towards the side of the road.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

LOL, what the heck, he's already been running it for over a month, if still there.

@Alzrn So did you survive your first winter with FxF?

When you come to a stop in more than a few inches of snow rock the truck back and forth a few feet as the warm drives will settle and create ice making departing a challenge…its a good plan even with a single wagon.
I pulled tandem a trains on north shore of Lake Superiors..always heavy and no engine brakes on those 5 mile 7% grades…never any problems…
