3/4" board will work, and if you pull that steer tire to get up tight, a cherry picker will suffice.
Or know a fella with a service truck with a crane? Slip him a hundo each way would be better.

That was definatly a thought i had as well and would be perfectly fine but I only got 1 or 2 days a month to work on this and only on the weekend and I never know which days I will be home so doesn't really seem like an option... I have a extra set of hands tho when the time comessinglescrewshaker, OLDSKOOLERnWV, cke and 9 others Thank this.

This is sorta ho #### but works. You probably have pull front wheels. But go buy you a harbor freight cherry picker while your there buy you a big foot kit and install it throw the factory casters away. No boards etc needed. You probably won’t get the truck high enough to go under your axle but you can split it.
Another very viable option is a cherry picker that goes in the receiver hitch of your pick up or suv. That would get it done without pulling the wheels. I’ve used both under trees and truck stop parking lots on 3406’s so it should be doable. Sorta cheapish at around 2-300 bucks.singlescrewshaker, OLDSKOOLERnWV, cke and 20 others Thank this. -

How in the hell I've never seen that done I don't know.

I went ahead and pulled the hood too. I’m a firm believer in just removing #### instead of working around itsinglescrewshaker, OLDSKOOLERnWV, cke and 18 others Thank this.

For the hood cage the brakes take 3 pallets and an old tire. Pull the front bumper tilt the hood and position it on pallets and tire (after undoing cables springs and both wiring harness) unhook your j bolts and ease the truck back. It can sit on that grill till hell comes home. Naturally a forklift and pallet work better or easier but it’s really nothing to sit an extended hood on and off by yourself with no lifting equipment. I do it all the time.

Well I know what I'm doing when I get home. Even with a plywood floor little rocks in a dirt floor shop still jam up the wheels on my lift.singlescrewshaker, OLDSKOOLERnWV, cke and 16 others Thank this.
