Well I'm technically a biker. I always thought they wore them for getting in fistfights... because it's more manly to hit with bare knuckles or something :dontknow:

Do you have any employees? Man I'd come drive for you in a heartbeat if you didn't live in that big scary city.

Get paid like it's 8 hours a day, they call it 11, but it's really 18!

The guy said he wanted to figure out a way to work less and you think the answer to that is employees?

I have a family member who has a business with 30+ employees and I'd rather try to herd alligators after hearing the crap they have to deal with.

I’m not quite catching on why you wear fingerless gloves if the oils on your hands are hard on the hand grips. I would think you would wear normal gloves then. I’m not a biker tho so I don’t claim to understand it.

Spend all those years building something real nice just for 1 schmuck to #### it all up, when they go bad mouthing a customer for something dumb...that is inevitable in trucking. To many losers out there with cdl's that couldnt care less about anything other than a paycheck

Maybe form a co-op of sorts. There is a great wealth of knowledge and experience here. 1/2 to a dozen guys, form the company, then each one can "lease themselves onto the company" at like 99% so that everyone keeps what they have prior to formation. Then start hiring and training the company drivers. The "founders" with the decades of experience will train the company drivers to their standards, uphold those standards, and split the profits generated by the company drivers (down the road after the growth phase). The "founders keep everything they have coming in, their direct shippers, their equipment, personal relationships with brokers, etc. All they will really be giving to the company is their experience and some start capital, in exchange they get a bunch of capacity and a chance to drive less if they want. IDK, like I said, I'm probably full of crap, but there should be a way to leverage the wealth of knowledge and experience some of the people here have.

They don't want oils from palms eating the grips, but still need to be able to pick their nose.
