I quit 39 yrs ago. I knew I had to if I wanted to get my CDL. Drove straight Trucks local and smoked it. Plenty of my Dads friends did it all driving semi’s before drug testing. Most people I know now smoke it, or take it recreationally or for some self justifying reason. I try to avoid it. I like having a clear mind. Focus on the benefits of thinking straight. It’s great!! Don’t miss it at all. I was a 10 joints per day addict towards the end.
i gotta quit the weed

I pretty much stopped smoking weed when I found something that was more important to me; Army flight school.
It really wasn't that tough for me.
Now, quit smoking cigarettes, is a no go. Ain't going to happen.
I ask myself, "if you could take a pill and make you stop smoking, would you take it?"
The answer is no.
Good luck. Stopping weed ain’t a big deal. You just have to find something that is more important to you.201, Stringb8n, austinmike and 2 others Thank this. -
Many years ago, my doctor asked me to keep a detailed food diary. I did this for almost 2 weeks. When I handed those papers to him, he scratched off almost 80% of the things I was consuming. I admit it was not just caffeine, but I was shocked at the number of things I was consuming that contained caffeine.austinmike Thanks this. -
Marijuana is only mentally addicting. Anyone can stop if they want to badly enough.
Chemical addiction is another story. Those addicted to Crack, Meth, Heroin or prescription pain medicine, even alcohol or nicotine face a bigger challenge when trying to quit. Often they need an intervention of some sort and a lot of support to help them overcome.
That is why I personally don't see a big problem with those who use Marijuana legally and responsibly IMO.
The fact is, it's still an illegal drug in many states and is a federally controlled substance. It's also a HUGE no-no for commercial drivers. If you really want to be a professional driver, you've got to be mature enough to tell yourself it's time to quit. I smoked it habitually for 20 years, then one day, I woke up out of bed, and decided to be done. I had my fun and it was time to move on. It's really not that difficult.201, Gearjammin' Penguin, Iamoverit and 2 others Thank this. -
US needs to join the civilized world,,,test for impairment,,not whether person smoked a joint last week or 2 months ago..70% of Canadian truck drivers would never pass a pot test…
