You dont need to wait until you finish. Start making calls/filling out on-line apps NOW. Cant hurt.

 

Don't go the 1099 route. It'll ruin your career over time. You'll have the felonies then you'll have more bad record stuff from driving for losers.

You want a clean slate that shows you've changed your ways and can be trusted. Take your time and do it right or you'll never break the cycle.

 

It's not hopeless just more difficult for you than it would be for any newbie with a solid work history, perfectly clean driving & criminal record.
