Some of y’all know my old man has been real sick. He’s got a little jeep wrangler that he popped a head gasket on. He loves that little jeep. So this weekend I’m going to start tearing it apart. It’s got the 4.0 in it. I’ve thought about a v8 swap but I think I really want to keep it original. The question I have. Should I just go back stock or should I build it back as a 4.6 stroker. (258 crank).
I still want to be able to run cheap pump gas. any thoughts or opinions?DeereRunner97, cke, IH9300SBA and 16 others Thank this. -
I'd keep it stock if'n you running pump gas. I'm shade tree at best .DeereRunner97, cke, CAXPT and 12 others Thank this.

I’m kinda thinking so too. Stock with maybe a mild cam and larger squirters. It’s never going to be a rock crawler, and the stock 4.0 has enough power for what it is. But the thought of a stroker does intrigue me. I don’t know that he’ll ever get to drive it again, but I also don’t think I will ever sell it when he’s gone either.DeereRunner97, cke, IH9300SBA and 13 others Thank this.

Disclaimer I have 0 knowledge of jeeps or what it takes.
I would do the stroker. You say he loves it, I never met an ol hand that didn’t like more power. Whether he ever drives it again or not you gotta let him believe he’s gonna if that makes sense. That’s just my .02DeereRunner97, cke, IH9300SBA and 17 others Thank this.
