HMD is actually a decently credible company, decent sized with good equipment. If they will hire the OP with those credentials, he better take it. Folks with all going on can't be choosy.trucker-chase, ducnut and Chinatown Thank this.

They’re in some of the same places we are. “Credible” and “Decent Equipment” is being generous. However, you’re right, in taking what he can get. I’m not sure which points are going to be the lesser evels, in his situation.bryan21384 Thanks this.

Tickets and a work history that doesn’t look the best and yet expects top dollar in return for the bare minimum input.Sons Hero, D.Tibbitt, Albertaflatbed and 9 others Thank this.

He had a different thread some time ago that was more telling. He admitted he had been late on loads, and reading some of the posts HD me questioning his trip planning and communication skills. He says he has several years experience, but it don't feel that way. I'm of the opinion that if you job hop frequently, you never really stay anywhere long enough to really know how be a trucker.Last edited: Jun 11, 2025

So work hard when im not being paid adequately to begin with? Seems more like a reason i should try to make an excuse for as much time off as possible
When I can make a consistent $1200+ a week doing my job I'll actually try to go above and beyond, but if they cant get me $1,000 a week its not worth getting out of bed to drive the truck, theres a clear line between a good company to spend time and improve with and a company that you just coast on for "experience" if you can even call "slave labor" experience
Then trucking companies dont really hire that way, they generally tell the next company you worked there, the dates of employment, any safety awards/commendation and confirm if you were fired or quit and I dont even bother with references anymore companies dont look at them
i dont associate with management i dont really care about the dispatcher, they're there and i run my miles and I normally hustle to make my money, run recaps only and its 100% a strictly buissiness deal with every company ive worked for -
I wouldn't get "top dollar" at any sub 60cpm company anyway so its bottom dollar inadequate pay, and barely covers food anyway
Like I said id work hard when I get paid adequately and treated well when I find a good company to work for ill definitely stay, j want a good company
Barely made 28k last year and I didn't even get a day off, was in the truck every day except when I swapped jobs -
They dont hire florida
-
Sadly they already said they'd only hire me to run I95/northeast so yeah it is a job but id be lucky to break $500 a week -
Are you familiar with the ####heads over at HireRight and your DAC Report? Your past employers can and will use that to soil you in every possible way. It’s a shame it exists. One can be the best driver a company has ever had, yet, they can slander the crap out of you. You might want to request a copy of your report.
RockinChair Thanks this.
