On the topic of slag pot carriers. Kress is the brand, Illinois made — west of Peoria.
Here’s some photos — their ‘coal hauler’ on a trailer. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the driver but he split from Keen after a few years but continued to haul for Kress.

I’d have to do some digging because I can’t remember the guys name either, but if it is who I think it is, he has run that extended hood A model for years. 700 whp KTA in it, and he and his wife do all the work on it themselves. Including converting it from torsion bar rear suspension to air ride.
