I was just going to post a response about getting radiation poisoning, then I read yours.

I'm kc8rvu. Got it in '01, but just the tech. I started getting busy and never took my code test. I was in shape to do it, (up to over 12wpm), but my Elmer moved and I started loosing interest. Now I understand you don't need the code test anymore?

 

No morse code is required for any class amateur radio license in the USA and from listening to some of the newer operators they must have dumbed down the question pool as well.

 

So what your saying is you dont think that rules and regulations are laws. WTF man, So hours of service is regulations, I guess i can just disregard them because there not laws huh? There the same thing! You dont think that if you pull this high power stuff near a hospital or something and it interferes with medical equipment and someone dies that you will not be getting some jail time? Think with your dipstick jimmy!

If they are not laws how do you get a $10,000 fine for breaking them.

 

These stations are very easy to find if you wanted too.
It is all in triangulating there position. The FCC guys can do it even faster than we can.
It is just a numbers game, and many of them know when Charley is in town and shut down.
They use to have a serious issue with this in my town where I grew up.
Allot of BIG radios down there, and a Naval Air Station. The radios were so large and so close to the base, that at times they would mess with air traffic control.
When that happened the FCC boys would come to town.
We use to play man hunt with CB's around the county.
One person was "it", and the others would all have to find him.

Dave...Those guys that make all the racket on channel 6 are pretty much just a bunch of morons...I've always called 'em "Welfare Cadillacs" because they are just a bunch of low rent losers that sit around trying to impress other low rent losers with how cool their radio is.

Like the morons in the "hood" living in a trash heap and driving a brand new Cadillac!

You wont be arrested....at first.
1st time is just a warning from uncle Charlie.
2nd is another warning with the words "or else".
3rd is the 10 thousand dollar fine and confiscation of the illegal equipment and or your ticket will be revoked for life.
4th is jail time.

.......don't fool your self,The FCC may not have the power it once did but if you act like a dumb butt enough times you will pay the fine and maybe do the time.

Everyone asking about the ch 6 boys....The FCC knows about them and where they are. People like Prime Minister who builds skullcracker amps,the guys that build Dave Made,Wizard,Xforce amps. Guys like Clarence Carter,Black Diamond and Mr 105 (some big boys on ch 6) are all on the FFC radar. They even have a list of #### near ever CB shop in the country and from time to time the FCC will bust one just to show everyone else that they are still around. It's just the fact they (the FCC) do not have the funding anymore,or the time to go around busting all of these guys so as long as they don't interfere with official lines of communications such as air traffic control,military and police communications then they don't really worry about em.

The ones that really have to watch out for the FCC are the licensed hams. the FCC is hard on them and if someone working for the FCC in one way or another ( they are all over the ham bands taking down call signs of those that act a fool,people just dont know it. ) catches that ham doing something that they know they should not be doing then that person will get a letter in the mail faster then that stupid old cber that lives down the street. It's always been like that and i think that is one of the reasons that ham ops hate the CB crowd so much!
