If you have a good record they’re pretty good. They aren’t lacking for miles either. Most of the complaints I’ve heard here if any were drivers claiming they didn’t want to work at night, wanted to only run certain states, demanding a weekly 34 reset, etc. basically not wanting to work because they just want to sit and watch the truck mounted tv. the pay might seem low but they have a boatload of benefits.
Im sure there’s companies that advertise 80+ cpm but I doubt if they have the trip lengths or weekly miles to back it up.
Holland Enterprises .52CPM worth it?

I also read that 34's were denied there, though at times the way loads are set up you can sometimes get in a 34. I don't know if the whole denying 34's thing is true or if I'm thinking of a review/post about another company.
Also, from what I understand they have bunk heaters but for AC they have opti idle? So no APU's?
Last, do you know if all the Great Plains drivers came over? If so, wouldn't that mean there's probably no openings at Holland if they absorbed the majority of drivers from (the failing business of) Great Plains? -
I know of a guy who was driving for Holly a sub contractor at Holland who was told they are closing as the owner got sick and the trucks were going back to Hollands yard. He drove for this group for a year. Hard runner good guy did everything right. He just got his final check and was charged $1151 deduction for a cleaning and repurpose fee? That is bs to treat a driver that way. I told him to reach out and try to get this resolved as that is not fair to this driver at all.

as for 34 hour resets it depends on what loads are available, or if a load allows enough time. Personally I don’t expect to do a restart. I prefer to do that at home anyways. Where people get the idea they are “required” to do a restart every week or that the company doesn’t allow it I don’t know. Most complaints I hear are from people who expect things that the company doesn’t do.
last few times I’ve been to the yard I hear drivers claiming they won’t run certain states or areas, won’t drive at night, etc. As far as I know you’re expected to run all 48 continental states, and if a load requires night or day driving then so be it. They won’t push you to run illegal or expect you to drive if weather/road conditions are too dangerous. Also they dont force drivers to chain up. Although it is a good skill to have in an emergency.
The trucks have “park smart” with options idle, and there is a bunk heater. I think got rid of apu’s because they break down too much (tbh I don’t miss apu’s much. Last couple I had at gpt drove me nuts with the constant problems).
Basically there’s no micromanaging and as long as the driver is doing their job they get left alone unless there is a concern that comes up or they get complaints. Most “driving only” days I rarely hear from them unless it’s a preplan, approval for lumper money, layover, etc or fleet announcement.
It’s hard to say how many former got drivers are here. From what I do know I don’t expect Great Plains Transport to be around much longer.hotrod1653, Lonesome, ClassAOldSchool and 1 other person Thank this. -
Holland’s finest blowing out their trailer at Jubitz. Apparently they don’t provide trash bags in orientation.
ClassAOldSchool Thanks this.
