Oh, I definitely agree. And the moment that anyone starts talking about regulating chameleon carriers, or requiring a carrier to have space to park 1/3 of their units (not at a truck stop), making ELDT mean something, getting DOT inspections per mile up to the same level it was in the early 2000s, or any number of things that will hurt the bottom feeders - I'm all on board.
But this change is akin to making an engine louder and claiming it's more powerful.
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

Juuuuuussssst inside......whoops
Out of Service orders that would accompany a driver being taken off the road end up on the records of a carrier, Fuller said. “If you’re a fleet and you have an out of service violation, this time is recorded on your record,” Fuller said. “And what’s interesting about that is that it shows up in your insurance rates. It also means some shippers will not book you if you have a lot of out of service violations.”

It's funny how changing the scale can change the narrative.
In Februrary the rejection rate was 7%
Claiming that rejection rates meeting the May highs is due to ELP is nonsensical, particularly when the February rate was higher and December touched double digits, and June 2024 looks comparable to June 2025.Attached Files:

Keep in mind that if you go with driver 'A' at .50 less a mile, the chances of your product sitting at the nearest weigh station are kinda good.......and the order being cancelled because of that. But driver 'B' in the meantime is happily rolling down the road.
My point is this; at some point it will all roll down hill to the shipper. "No Habla? GTFO" -
