Speak for urself . I used to really enjoy your posts and insight when u was running your own show. Its really a shame to watch someone poison themselves with the mega company kool aid. Especially a good hand like yourself.

Yeah ok... that's not how that stuff works.. If someone tells you to be there at 7am for a crane appointment. That means you are there at 6am or earlier. The only excuse for not making it is being dead. Even then you will still be billed for the missed appointment... u don't just make a phone call and say hey buddy let's move that 150 ton crane appointment a couple hours later , alright? Sound good?

You still only have 70/8. Still just 11 and 14. Please explain to me how this gives you more hours? It only gives you the ability to choose a schedule that best works for you. And dollar to a doughnut this helps with parking. Parking was never this bad. It wasn’t until everyone was forced to work the same schedule that parking shortages were an issue. Not to mention driver health. Now a driver has the ability to stop his clock for a proper meal instead of a heart attack in a sack because he’s gotta keep running because the clock is ticking

He always mentions pay, and I can say that I’m making Walmart money at the place I drive for but that doesn’t mean I want to sleep in the truck so if pausing the 14 means I sleep in my own bed and poop in my own bathroom I’m all for it. My pay has nothing to do with my opinion.

Poor argument. “If the speed limit was 55 you wouldn’t get home at all”

Because you deflected instead of answering when I asked. Also, you're always on this website typing mini novel responses so I find it very difficult to believe your job isn't from behind a keyboard. I'm convinced you work at a desk. I mean, you're in the OO section arguing (as usual) for the government to treat all business operations the same. That's also pretty shifty.

If you ever had your own customer you would know how incredibly difficult it is to not only land one but also to keep one around. The minute that customer can't get what he wants, he gets his services elsewhere. Saying, "No" isn't always an option.

You're another one in here demanding businesses operate how you see fit instead of by their own needs. Leasing on to Schneider means nothing. They got the customers, not you so as a glorified company driver it was easy for you to tell your boss you can't make an appointment.

Get your own authority and a customer and see how long you keep him after you refuse to service him on something reasonable.

I didn't deflect, I ignored a perceived attempt to insult. But yes, I am a driver. I spent 14 years OTR with Schneider before switching to LTL line haul last year.

Even if I wasn't a driver, you should be able to present a clear argument on how this doesn't impact driver safety.

From a couple pages ago - "If you want to talk about specific exemptions for oversize, I'm onboard, but not for general drivers." All business with in a category should face the same regulatory framework, yes. I grant that over dimension may need increased flexibility, which could be arranged during the permitting process. We've worked under this HOS for 20 years now. Carriers made money and customers were satisfied, if you can't find a way to satisfy your customers and follow the current rules, then that's probably not a customer that's worth keeping.
