Hi im an OTR truck driver of 3 years and i live in California but my company is in North dakota. Today i got a level 1 inspection at a rest area in north dakota and everything went great until he saw that my DMV medical report says "intrastate" he said it was the DMVs fault(it was, i CLEARY remember telling the lady at DMV "interstate" when she asked) and he put me out of service at this rest area.

I let my company know and the weekend crew said to call safety when the office is in tomorrow. What is the process to correct this issue? Do i have to go back to California to correct it?

The officer didnt give me a citation because he said that it was clearly the DMVs fault. He just put me out of service and made a note on the inspection report that it was the DMVs fault.

It may have been the doctor's fault. That happened to me once. She checked the wrong box and I didn't catch it. I always check it now.

Because it was the doctor's mistake all I had to do was go back to the clinic and get another medical card from her, then turn it in.

They probably checked the Intrastate box on the self certification form instead of the Interstate box. Call the DMV and see if you have to go there in person. They may let you fax/email an updated self cert form.

Get some white out and fix your certificate. Do that and then self certify online..then roll :)

If your med card is current you should be able to self certify online or via the internet with a form. This is why I don't take breaks at public places where state predators like to stalk for victims.

Lesson: don't communicate important things to people with spoken words. Do it in writing. "Yeah, but" isn't an answer.

I knew an individual that the same exact incident happened. He contacted DMV and they fixed the problem, I don’t know if he was emailed or had to go find a FAX to get his copy. He resolved it the same day.
