From bad to good Ontario California

Today I was around Ontario California on 60 around 10 am. I had needed to find a place to spend the night for a 6 am pickup in "the city of industry". Went into the pilot ( or fling j)and what a mess. No spots, small, jammed with trucks trying to get out. Ones leaving the pumps have to hand an immediate U-turn to find the exit. I managed to get out and found a Petro on my gps 3 miles away off i10. It was "preferred parking". Gated, you take a ticket upon entry. The deal is 2 hrs or less free. Or $30, or purchase $50 worth of anything. I parked and dispatch called to say the load was cancelled so I didn't have to stay.( Headed north to hilmar instead) I did my 30 there. Nice place. Hot food bar cafeteria style. Pork chops chicken, some kinda pasta. I got stuffed peppers with mashed potatoes and gravy with corn bread. There was cobbler too.
It would have been worth the 30 to find parking around there. That 1st place was THE worst. They outta bulldoze it. Don't go .
Petro was a pleasant, unplanned stop. Relieved all the stress from the 1st place. I was going to eat ramen, but instead had some good vittles.

 

I went there with my trainer when I briefly worked for cfi, in 2008. Small, but I had one of the best huevos rancheros plates there.

 

There was a guy on the cb there on a rant about the idiots blocking the fuel pumps, washing their feet and rolling out their carpets. Hilarious. He was just blowing off steam.
