HIT jump rope for truck drivers. That's what kept me fit when I was OTR. Crank out a set of 100 jumps, walk around the truck, repeat. Do that 10 times in under 12 minutes. Good work out. It also forces blood circulation in your legs.

Can confirm the interval walking is more beneficial than walking a steady pace for the same time. I have a treadmill/stand-up desk and got used to walking at a steady pace, but after weeks or months of doing it there seemed to be no improvement/weight loss. Switching to 3 minutes at the steady pace, then 3 minutes at just below jogging speed, then walking for 3, and so on produces higher heart-rate and feels like more effort. Interval walking is what doctors prescribe for post-heart attack patients and elderly, although their walking and "just below jogging speed" will be lower than a younger or healthier patient. Just pick the comfortable walking speed and the just below jogging speed that fits you.
