No doubt in my mind Tibbit, you're a top hand. And evidently a hard runner cause you're all over the #### place.

Yes, that is correct. I LOVE an x chain on steel plate. I even do it on beams if at all possible.
I’m with you on feeling like it wouldn’t take much to get that stuff to slide in a panic stop situation.

Looks great! I wouldn't hesitate to bring er to a grinding hault for a crossing family of ducks with the way you've got that plate secured

Me too, I am famous for always banging on about the need for a X, be it chains, straps or, in the very old days, ropes. Nice one. ;-)

Looks okay WLL wise, other than that strap over the chain, but I usually added X-chains to the back of the stack as well to keep pressure on the load both ways to stay where it was, as well as one chain over the middle, and made sure straps and chains didn't occupy the same space....but that's my OCD, not yours. :)

Where that is would almost take an act of congress to get traffic stopped.

Perhaps, but I’m thinking that has to happen regardless of whether he backs in or jughandles it from the oncoming lane.

I take it there are no traffic lights in the vicinity?
