Thank you for the responses.

Replace those isolators on the bolts too. They get hard and compressed, and you'll lose the torque on the gasket. New ones are often near 1/4" thicker than old ones.jeffman164 and wore out Thank this.

Is the supplied gasket cork or rubber?
I have found that when applying rtv to a rubber gasket, I often need to remove the mold release agent to get the rtv to stay put. -
12.7 Detroit - 1999. First pic bottom is old isolator. First pic top isolator is new. Second pic just a different angle. Will the new isolators work same as old ones? Just different design ? Same diameter and bolt thread length will work.

Nope. The black is a new style isolator for the black oil pan gasket, the old one is for a grey oil pan gasket.
Unless you're changing the oil pan to the new style
BTW, You do realize you're missing the spacer on the gray one?Last edited: Jul 7, 2025

Hey, sorry,I had that backwards. Your old one is black which means you have the new style pan with black gasket. The grey isolator will not work.
I don't think you can get just the isolator for the new style, just the new bolt with isolator -
Thank you
