That would be a blessing, and hopefully a lesson to the rest of the degenerates who wear ghetto flops.

Was it a trailer optional operation? You know, like Power only, and they forgot the trailer requirement? :)
(I see what looks like a trailer on the side of the top picture, but it doesn't look like a trailer anymore. :) )

They haul them with a dolly in the back. Once they unload, then they come together as a short trailer. I would say that was all due to poor securement.

Yes, years ago in England you might see a similar load using an 8 wheel rigid lorry with some sort of arrangement fixed on the bed probably just forward of the tandem. Then a dolly connected to the 8 legger only by the load itself except for an electric line for the lights, no brakes so no airlines required.

The dolly would have an A-frame at the front which hung loose or perhaps chained up and it was this way that the return journey was made by connecting the eye of the A-frame to a ringfeeder on the back chassis of the wagon.

Could the problem in this case be as you say, or perhaps a failure in the manufacture of the beam? Alot of twisting strain when cornering with such a thing. Interesting though, I have seen many such combinations but never such a dire result.
