There’s not exactly a surplus of drivers wanting to work for a mega OTR company. They’ll just break him down and send him down the road with a load while feeling grateful to still be employed.Knucklehead, Friend, hotrod1653 and 4 others Thank this.

That’s why I refuse to park on the end. Even if it’s the only spot available. I don’t feel comfortable parking on an end for a 10 especially since I just got into a brand new truck.O.Henry, Knucklehead, Friend and 3 others Thank this.

Dropped and hooked yesterday in Quincy, MI. As soon as i sent in my load call, I get messages. 2 red codes on the reefer. It was at the right temp (according to the b/l, not my load info), and it started and ran just fine. 20 minutes later, the same codes hit again. The problem is, it's an evaporator sensor, and an unknown sensor. The evaporator sensor is inside the trailer, so there is nothing that can be done unless they unload the trailer. All day today, there has been no codes. Breakdown says to have Lincoln check it out. So, since Lincoln was my fuel stop, I showed the codes to the trailer shop, and he said both of those codes are inside, but as long as it's keeping temps ok, ride with it and keep an eye on it. He said those codes sometimes come up if a shipper has tall freight and they pack it up against the unit too tight. So, I did my imitation of a shepherd and got the flock out of there. Made it all the way to Grand Island today, and should make it to Ft. Bridger tomorrow. That is only 100ish miles to my customer, so I may sneak in a 34 so I have abundant hours to roll next week.
Not sure where the communication is breaking down, but every load lately has had a temperature mismatch. The magic box says one thing and the b/l says another. Yesterday, the Peoplenet said -1, but the bills said 28 (and it was set by the shipper at that temp as well). It isn't a big deal, I just have to msg Op's and wait for them to change it on their end before sending in my load info, and the new guy is getting quicker at it.Last edited: Jul 25, 2025
