What if it Snows?

Common misconception, generally perpetuated by people that think they are smarter than they are... because they see air miles and think air speed which is measured in nauts. Then there are the ones that think its 150 driving miles... nope can be 1000 miles as long as it doesn't leave that circle.

While I agree with that sign, I have a friend that moved from a 2 bit dump south of Fresno too a spot outside Wasilla Alaska. He loves it, but he is one of the survivalist types, and now has a collection of hand guns that make some jealous. But the first thing in his pack when goes out is 2 pieces of pitch wood, hip knife and one in the pack. And yes he does carry a rifle.

also air speed does not equate to ground speed . GS will be faster than indicated.

Actually @Feedman is correct. An air mile is a nautical mile. It is longer than a ground mile. 150 air miles is 172.6 ground miles. Don’t cheat yourself out of 22.6 extra miles on each end. Apparently ag commodities are kinda like tag. Once you make it to base you are safe
