Can confirm i see those rolling up n down az/cali every once in awhile.. they do the same with hay, just on flatbeds. Single screw and double trailers... Not many trucks that look cooler than a west coast hay hauler. Thats what started my love for trucks as a kid

I’ve always had a fascination with a truck and trailer. They were kinda common back when. A truck with a livestock box pulling a trailer with a tongue. They wouldn’t haul #### though. I think some of em you had to unhook to load and unload. The barn had one for years but I never seen it used. Them doubles it’s hard to beat the cool factor in them. Practically of either I can’t say. I will say it’s hard to beat a 50ft Barrett with a suicide nose and a full jail.

them ol big cattle just spilt em by 2 and load the middles they ride fine

I reckon 2 28’s is 56, but I imagine they are heavier. So I can’t see the benefit for cows.

I ended up with a couple them trucks one time. They was light blue & white. 89 model short hood 379’s. 425’s the old RTLO15618b 18 speeds. Big Rockwell rears and factory 4 core radiators. Nothing light duty about them units.

Side load, I was gonna ask how they’re loaded. What’s the advantage of doubles versus I big 53 foot trailer ??

The reason they’re used in the LTL world is for freight going in or coming from multiple directions. I can’t imagine what use a livestock operation would have for that.
