All the other stuff isn't germane.

From the pictures you posted, it looks like there's plenty of space between getting the truck off the street and putting the trailer into the covered portion of the dock. Even if there wasn't, there's no shame in popping the brakes and walking the area before setting up. I know it's stressful blocking traffic, but you need to do what you need to do to protect yourself.

 

Bull. It's a fixed object which countless other trucks have avoided.

We don't know how many have nailed that steel bar. It might be 2-3 a week.

 

Your trying to do the right thing, by not tying up traffic, asking for help. You still get burned. Doors are not super expensive. No one else had damage(cars, people). A "decent/good" accident to have.

 

yep, it is on them, 100%. I would tell them that they will be responsible for the damages and downtime to the trailer. I can tell you for sure, their costs will be a lot more than if they repaired the problem properly, a lot more.
