I do hate getting into a Loaner… just trips my anxiety a bit too much… but I’m thankful to have the option to keep a set of tires rolling. I know that this event sucks, but as an O/O, getting a Free Loaner, sure beats Renting one from Penske… lol :)

Seriously, I do hope this all shakes out well for you and the new truck will be problem free for years and the bad drivers stay away from it too.

hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

I'll be a company driver again so this isn't a loaner but looks like they are giving me 1919 to drive until I go o/o with another truck eventually.

I'll hand it to you, you go over a trailer with a fine tooth comb. I hope FCC is compensating you for all your troubles. I know, I would've threw a piece of Gorilla Tape over it, sent a message in to maintenence and rolled. And let them worry about getting it cycled back to the yard for repair.

Not to say I'm lazy but I'm definitely not that thorough. I check the lights and tires, and look for anything obvious but most of the time i don't break out my magnifying glass. Not that I'm the most sharp in the first place. That one he posted for instance, there would've been a great chance that I would've completely missed it. I've caught plenty of bad wheel seals, holes in the roof, etc. but i doubt I'd see a tiny hole in the side of a trailer unless it was pointed out to me

Same here....having worked at YRC prior, FCC's equipment was like Rolls Royce's. Many an old Roadway trailer had more self-adhesive hazmat placards on the roof than original roof, lol. When we would load out at night and it was raining, you learned to take the cardboard slip sheets and make "gutters" to direct the drips off the freight, because when you only have so many trailers at an end-of-line terminal like Salina, you had to use what you had.
