use to be i would say without a problem but now with us having to run legal some weeks you will and other no you wont. i have been on paperless logs for a little over 2 months and i have not hit 3000 paid miles since i have been on them. there have been quite a few weeks where i would get 2950 to 2980 but thats the most i have gotten. alot of it will depend on the loads also if you get a lot of drop and hooks you have a better chance but if you have to bump every dock you are less likely to.

With the right company, sure, it's conceivale !!!!!
If you lived down here, I'd name a few companies............ -
Thanks for the info. With me living in Elgin, Ill. off I90 would that make a diff? I will just have to wait and see. Anything would be better than working at Home Depot at this point.
-
Home Depot pays better !!!!!
-
No they really don't anymore. Its getting harder and harder to work them. At my Home Depot pay rate which is on the higher end of most non management employees I would still make more money if I drove 2000 miles at 29 cpm.

Must be that New math.
Oh well, Best Of Luck !!!!!! -
I agree. Must be some sort of new math.

Tacodog...
Dude..dont forget the money you spend out on the road that you dont need to spend working and HD and going home each night....
2000miles at .30cpm = $600 gross (maybe $450 take home w/o other deductions..give or take).
$600 over 40hrs would be $15/hr of course. But you can't compare things equally here. Dont forget - trucking isn't 40hrs/week and if you add it all up, you would be disgusted at what you technically make per hr while OTR...plus deducting for OTR living expenses out here..
..just look at this closely..thats all.
-
At .30cpm averaging 50mph it comes out to $15.00 per hr. for driving time only.

I appreciate the info and the other things to think about. But here's the deal, even at the above rate that would be a $3500 increase over what I am making now, which is better than the annual .50 cent raise if we are lucky. Now, tell me if I am wrong, having a CDL will open more doors for me, in the future, than a dead-end retail job. As for being home every night, that doesn't matter to me right now.
