You would have a better chance of any LTL considering your application if you already had the Doubles and Hazmat endorsements when you apply. If they have several apps and some have drivers with the needed endorsements and some don't, which ones do you think they will go with? The doubles endorsement test is one of the easiest ones to pass. Hazmat is a little tougher but there are many free sample tests online, including here at TTR, that will help you pass.

Where you are now, you have zero benefits.
Sysco is loaded with benefits plus a retirement pension after 5 years.
You're not working for less money. Pay goes up fast with union companies.

No, it's his loss for not taking that union job. $20 hr. is starting pay only. That's not much if he has to buy his own benefits and retirement plan, but it's not that way at Sysco.

I have my appt Tuesday to get tsa background and prints. Practice tests I’ve been 89-97 % pass rates. To be honest in my opinion hazmat tests have been easier than doubles. lol

20 is just training pay when your on your own you get dip pay. Which is miles+cases+stops. I'm not sure how much it is but most of the sysco guys I know where doing ok 80k plus.

    FullMetalJacket and Chinatown Thank this.

Sure, until you get those questions on things a company driver wouldn’t even be expected to know, like how long spill records are supposed to be retained by the company.

Well they sure didn’t explain that any further. No details stating it was training pay for any of that just “is $20.07 acceptable pay for you?” If they would’ve said you’ll be at $20.07 an hour while training then move to dip pay I would’ve said sure thing!

Several years ago a friend of mine worked for Sysco and made well over $100G a year.
To each his own; sometimes money isn't a #1 priority.
