It is hard for me to take advice from someone that butchers the english language so bad. Also most companies have a dress code that lets you wear a pair of shorts with a polo shirt and tennis shoes. I drive flatbed so i do not wear shorts when getting loaded and unloaded but when i am driving from New Jersey to California i wear shorts and a polo shirt.

I appreciate your opinion. However I don't agree with it whole heartedly, you are
still intitled to your own opinion.
I have also seen some very unproffesionally dressed drivers out there
The one that bother me the most are the wannabe thugs. If you wear your jeans so losse they hang to your knees so I can see your boxer shorts I absolutley feel the need to give you a wedgie and show you how to pull them up. As for shorts I wear the Jean shorts that come to just above the knee. They are clean no holes and I wear a nice shirt and if not raining I just might be wearin sandles too. I take pride in my appearance and my proffesional attitude, and the respect I treat my shippers and recievers with. Again I appreciate your opinion, but you know that old saying about them. Everyone has one. It didn't mean yours is wrong or mine is right we both just have different ones.

    I couldn't agree more.
As long as you are clean and neat who cares if you wear shorts and a polo or jeans and a button down? So many of these "clean" drivers in their boots jeans and button downs smell like ashtrays and I can't stand to talk to them with their rotten teeth and horrible breath that you can smell from several feet.
If these are real men then I'm proud to be a "rookie" with nearly twenty years of safe driving experience.

Sorry if I hurt your feeling,:biggrin_25526: First of all in my line of work shorts were not allowed (drilling rigs ,refinerys,) so I know nothing about driving a truck and being able to wear shorts. I really have no dog in the running so I will just keep to myself now.

I think as long as you are neat, clean and have a professional attitude and respect for others, you will do fine regardless of what you wear!

i have to say just because someone dresses profesionally doesnt make them a profesional, same goes for someone not dressing professionally doesnt make them unprofesional. its all about perception. if someone looks at you wearing shorts and a t-shirt as unprofessional then that is what you are to them and they mey not hire you. its all about perception.

My grandpa always told me something very similar. He said, "If you focus on what you don't have, you'll never see all that you do have".
