So you are talking about guys like me? I scheduled my pm on Monday/Tuesday, loaded, Wednesday and left late afternoon towards my customer on the Eastern seaboard keeping an eye out on trucker path for open scales.

I go above and beyond on maintenance, and my rig is in good shape, but I have no interest in saying hi to the guys at dot/mto...

They can see the violations rolling in, the suspects meet the criteria
I got inspected once in my last 30 years.
Only maybe 4 inspections in all of 45 year
Helps to be white and driving new equipment

I find that number surprisingly low as well. Go to any truckstop and see how many white Volvos with air dryers going off every minute with derka derka express logistics dot stickered over an older name.. It’s a crazy time we live in when Swift is backing up next to you and you’re relieved because They’re probably more professional than the Foreign companies out there. -And if Swift hits you, you know they’re gonna pay for the repairs.

I like these targeted blitz’s many of these trucks rarely see a scale. Ontario built a multi million dollar scale on hwy 11/17 and it’s rarely open ? Why build a super coop and leave it closed . That one is unavoidable to cross and would get a huge % of bad trucks off road before they ever got to the gta

Well.. I wouldn't say impossible to bypass. More like how motivated one is to go around it. but I agree that more enforcement would be good to weed out the bad carriers.

That’s what was happening during the safety blitz back in july everyone was bypassing the Gananoque scales taking other routes. The opp and mto were looking for drivers going around the scales
