So that’s my question. im thinking about going with a new Texas pride trailer bc of the price range. I have two option go with a tandem 30k rated trailer de rated to 25,999. Or go with a 40k trailer (tripple axel duals). I have a new f450 that can handle the 40k pounds. The pros and cons to this for me is. Will I get that much more work to make the 40k worth it? Or will I just be spending all that money on maintence for no reason just to make as much as a 30k trailer.
I would also get taxed 12 percent bc it’s over 26000. Last question. If I go with the 30k trailer. it is derated and I put enough weight on the trailer to get it to 30k would DOT have an issue with that bc it is derated? Thanks appreciate any help/answers I can get
Which trailer should I go with for hot shotting

What is your experience? Do you have a DOT number?

I have worked for companies moving equipment and have a cdl. I’m working on the process of getting my dot numbers authorized

The best trailer, is the one that will serve your customers, is legal for your equipment. As to the maintenance, that is a cost you pay to do business. ( tax/operating expenses) The things you have to consider are what will make you money, but have the lowest cost of ownership. Going cheap upfront will cost you more money in the long run. It is a balancing act.
