Wound up dropping the Honey load in Fremont. Ran out of hours a couple short in spite of driving the truck like a rented mule.I just lost too much time in SoCal. Left Sidney, NE about 10:40 last night and pulled into FCC about a quarter after 6 this morning with 4 minutes left on the meter. Would only get a little under 7 hours tomorrow so I'm staying put til early Wednesday morning so I can roll with 70 instead of the recap merry go round. Got the truck serviced and did laundry so I have gotten some items off the to do list.

The great P.T. Barnum said “There’s a sucker born every minute”. He was right.cdavis188 Thanks this. -
Had a surprise this morning, guy from the shop came out to grab my truck. I guess they are replacing the APU brackets on the Aspen units so I am going to be out of the truck for a while while they take the APU off and remount it. Good to have it done if it needs doing. I wish I 'd known they were doing that I'd have shut it off when I got up this morning so it wouldn't be hot when they are working on it.
Friend, hope not dumb twucker, cdavis188 and 2 others Thank this. -
Anyone been to Kelly’s Kawasaki in Richmond IN? Satellite view says it might be “fun”.

Much earlier than expected but I'll be trading in one of my cars on a 2020 Toyota Camry with 20k miles.
I dug around the internet until I found one I wanted that met my criteria. It's a base LE non-hybrid in Supersonic Red. It has the features I want with none of the crap i don't. A 2.5l 4 cylinder engine that's not turbocharged, an actual key to start the car with, cloth seats (personal preference), and none of that auto start/stop bs which i loathe with a burning passion
28 city/39 highway for fuel mileage. The car gets better mpg in town than any of my current cars on the highway. I strongly considered a Hybrid one but almost 40 mpg is pretty darn good out of a naturally aspirated motor. Plus no battery to worry about replacing when it inevitably needs replaced somewhere down the line
And it was made in the good ol' US of A down in Georgetown, KY
I'll post pics when I get the car -
I lied about the color. Apparently it's called Ruby Flare Pearl
Edit: it also comes with a physical parking brake. Not one of those electronic crappersLast edited: Sep 17, 2025
Friend Thanks this. -
I think you will end up missing the land yacht ride.
Friend and IH Truck Guy Thank this. -
that's why I'll still own 1
plus I still have my 75 Cadillac. That's not a land yacht though. That's like piloting a #### battleship down the street. The suspension is so floaty it's ridiculous. You ain't feeling any bumps in that thingGoody3635, Friend, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm sorry. Someone your size fitting in a Camery? This is what I pictured when I read that
kylefitzy, Friend, MidWest_MacDaddy and 10 others Thank this. -
I actually found a Camry at a local stealership and asked if I could sit in it. It was surprisingly pretty roomy. Leg room is pretty good although there could be just a tiny bit more headroom. But i didn't want to spend the time finely adjusting the seat so I'm sure i could fit a bit better. The company has a Malibu, a Buick of some such, and two vans we drivers can tool around in. Guess which two i fit in a lot betterGoody3635, Friend and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.
