Northern Californian looking to get into trucking

    They aren’t hiring without experience.

    I have applied to and called over 50 places. So far only two have said yes. Orientation for both companies won’t start until November. I am working to get out of poverty, and just need an opportunity. I’ve got a clean record, I’m not on any drugs, and I can be packed and ready to go within an hour. Why aren’t people hiring?

    In short -- it's becuz things have gotten too nutty out there.

    A combination of different factors have more or less converged at roughly the same time...to create the worst CDL job market in quite a while.

    Patience is key.

    Later on -- behind the wheel -- you will still need that patience....but for different reasons.
