I think it’s a very good start… There’s a lot of work to be done to fix this, but they have to start somewhere

Sorry Duffy, not good enough.
Order all non-domicile/provisional CDLS revoked.
States that do not follow the rule suspend every authority in the state.
If his wife and kids were even close to being hit by a truck, he would have come up with serious regs and shut down everything until this problem is fixed.Opendeckin, Suspect Zero, MACK E-6 and 8 others Thank this. -
I agree with this. But the states have control of the licensing , so, how does the federal system revoke those licenses, if the state won't cooperate? I think this approach will bring compliance vs total revocation would bring defiance.MACK E-6, Trucker61016, Toomanybikes and 7 others Thank this.

Really simple, do not allow authorities to operate interstate.
This cuts the legs off of every carrier in the state, and I can guarantee that within hours, it will force the state to react and compile. The federal government has a hell of a lot of power under the Interstate Commerce Clause, and the large number of SC rulings that the state has zero power to do a thing about it; they just have to comply.
While the talk of restricting or withholding federal funding is a congressional issue, suspending all a specific states' authorities is right in the hands of the US DoT and FMCSA without a doubt.
The states are obligated under the agreement they have with the federal government to abide by all FMCSA laws or create stricter laws, having a non-domicile CDL being restricted or being invalid through regulations, means that the state can not have them at all. Stricter would mean eliminating all non-domicile and regular driver's licenses ahead of the feds.lual, bullhaulerswife, Kyle G. and 4 others Thank this. -
Educating people about the problem is a good thing. Some people don't know what you mean when you tell them what's been going on. Sean Duffy is communicating effectively at least.
bullhaulerswife and Kyle G. Thank this. -
I predict a flurry of Lawsuits back and forth.

It's crazy, they did an audit in Cali in June and one of four CDLs has been issued with a violation
