I consider myself blessed to have been able to have a job, to have been able to get up and report there, draw a paycheck, disburse it for needs and a few wants, stash some for my old age, and still be alive.

I guess I did my gambling in buying a used piece of equipment, fixing it up to a usable state and being able to sell at a profit. (79 to 93)
Kinda like farming and raising cattle (to age 18). Different tho, engine dies, add gas recrank.. Cow dies, bury. Seed don't come up, disc under.

River casinos came to MS. Working folks flocked there to gamble. One claimed to have gone to Tunica and won enough to "pay off his trailer".
Wife and I walked in one in Biloxi while visiting our youngest daughter on her first job down there. Big console like device sitting in the entrance offering some fantastic chance and we went on in the restaurant to eat. Ate, visited. Some time later, read where a young just married couple had been there that same night, put in (?) and won 20K (initial connection for jackpots) Why did I not try it that night?

 

Keyboards on phones ruined texting. It would take half an hour to type a paragraph on the old rugby flip phone. Now you get stories by text
