Well wildbill, perhaps you should have spoken to him in his native language, whatever that was. . .
I don't have problems with folks who have a hard time with english, as long as they can finally understand it. But when the comprehension just is not there, I have no patience for them.

a JB driver and i were standing on the dock getting unloaded. he asks...."what's the best way to get here"?
V: were you coming from the north or south?
JB: north
V: tells him the directions
JB: that's not how i got here
V: that's not what you asked, i told you the best way.
JB: ok, how do i get to the main highway
V now getting to be as stupid as JB tells him
JB: but that's not how i got here
sorry, but i had to walk away at that point. The Challenger, Saddle Tramp and JustSonny Thank this. -
That remind's me. Is it me or has anyone else noticed J.B. Hunt kinda laying low lately? Ain't seen or heard #### from them or any of their driver's lately unless someone here is and don't know it.
The Challenger and JustSonny Thank this. -
This is a good list of things not to do if and when I get in the trucking industry.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
You will ask some questions that will make a exp. driver shake his/her head. Thats ok because most of us have been there.

Hey, I'm still waiting for someone to tell me the proper inflation pressure for a fifth wheel!!!!!!!
And why do you grease the ###### things, wouldn't that make them harder to handle?
Seems to me that it would make more sense to grease your "glad" hand!!!
American-Trucker, Schmidtrock, Skunk_Truck_2590 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I had a student ask me where a driver slept and I pointed to the sleeper. He was under the impression the company paid for a motel room so when he found out you had to sleep in the truck, he quit.
Oh well. A good understanding going in saves wasting time training someone that will never pay back a loan.Saddle Tramp and JustSonny Thank this. -
Until it is hard enough to handle the pulling arm release!

Do not handle the hard thing until it is well greased...skid marks aren't good during an inspection!
Without the grease, your hand might be glad...but not the other member!
JustSonny Thanks this. -
working on the dock one day a newer dockworker backed his forklift out of a trailer (no tractor attached) and said he didnt think the landing gear was touching the ground
he actually thought the front of the trailer was floating or something, me and another guy never figured out exactly what he thought was holding up the front of the trailerJustSonny, Saddle Tramp and The Challenger Thank this. -
